This report is part of a series under the title of Promoting Human Rights, Democracy and an Equitable Society, with the overall objective of reducing hate speech and discrimination against women, migrants and minorities. It examines xenophobia and anti-immigrant narratives that trend and become popular on social media in South Africa from 01 July to 30 September 2023. It is the fifth report funded by the European Union (EU) as part of the Centre for Analytics and Behavioural Change’s (CABC) programme focusing on xenophobia. The report series offers regular analysis of troubling narratives and divisive content relating to xenophobia on South African social media.
